I'm late to the party but the title of this issue spoke to me more than any of the others, so I arrived anyway. Definitely been feeling the same way about social media; going to take reading this as a sign! Also, thanks for sharing Jawhar's music. Khyoot is <3
See how you get on with https://leathomas.bandcamp.com, I stumbled across her via John Thayer who produces her work and is also a great (non-folk) artist…
I’m actively working my way off Meta, and also figuring out where to go from this place, which is also not a very comfortable space these days. Good luck.

I knew there were issue with extreme right newsletters a couple of years ago, but I thought Substack had begrudgingly solved it, what are you referring to exactly? Personally I haven't come across anything offensive on Substack, although admittedly I haven't been looking too hard. Welcome aboard :)
As usual, thanks for the music :) Also sharing some deep anti-social-media-crap vibes lately...
Hana Stretton's 'Soon' is Sublime! Thanks for sharing!
What an album, it was love at first listen...
I'm enjoying your Slow Folk playlist. Is there anyone you think is a similar lo-fi folk vibe as Hana Stretton? I'm in danger of becoming obsessed.

There’s also the recent amplification of (and official partnership with) The Free Press (Bari Weiss) as part of On Substack’s Dec 17 post. Some background on Weiss here: https://www.transgendermap.com/issues/topics/media/bari-weiss/
